Not quite as far as the last couple of days - 25km according to the maps, but with an optional route which added a little distance but avoided a long stretch by a road, actually nearer 26.5.
The first stretch to Fromista went nicely; a good deal of it being by a canal, and before the temperature rose. That's George by the canal. Breakfast at Fromista, partly because the Church of St Martin (dating from 1066) wasn't yet open, and is worth seeing.
Onward to Villalcazar de Sirga, on the river path which offered shade and quiet. You can see the other route along the road from this path at times, and the river was definitely better than the road
On the way into Villalcazar, I passed a woman apparently walking on her own, who acknowledged my greeting in Spanish but somehow with an identifiable West Midlands accent! We walked up to the town together talking, where her husband was waiting for her - he walks a little faster and already had a beer in his hand! Villalcazar also has an impressive church, though it's not open on Mondays.
And so to the final stretch to Carrión de Condes, quite a sizeable place. It was dusty - dust blowing off the fields and from the surface of the path - and wearing, but we made it. A beer and a plate of something in the square, then up the hill to tonight's Albergue.
